He’s a ONE and DONE kind of guy. Can she live long enough to find out if she’s the ONE?

Percy Honeybun and his honey, Brita Muldane just can't catch a break. They've danced around their relationship for years, unable to find a way to make it work. But their lives are intertwined through family and friends and they're just as unable to break completely away from each other. Maybe what they need is a life changing event to help them break through. Or maybe the life-shattering event they suddenly find themselves in, will end up breaking them instead.

"Dust off the edge of your seat because that's exactly where you will be while enjoying this thrill ride called Honeybun One and Done. If you are new to the Honeybuns, you are in for a treat. Although you do not need to read all of them to enjoy this one, I highly recommend it." ~Barbara Miller - Reader
heart
She looked at the dead man’s name badge and swore. Brita thought she was looking at the uni who was supposed to have been at the front desk.

She moved to the window and looked outside, seeing the rusty metal fire escape hugging the wall a few feet down.

The killer had used the fire escape.

She left the bathroom and hurried toward the stairs, Moxie bouncing at her heels. She’d heard voices on her way upstairs so she knew that somebody was in the bullpen. First she needed to warn them, though she thought the killer was long gone. And second she needed to start a manhunt for whoever killed the Sarge and Brent Madris, the young uniformed cop in the bathroom. Madris had left behind a wife and two small kids. Rage flared at the thought. Brita would find whoever killed the two cops and she would make sure they paid for it.

Moxie ran to the bullpen door and stopped, yipping with excitement. Brita scooped her up and pushed the door open.

The stench hit her first. Feces, urine, and fear.

The first cop was draped over the copy machine, the whir and click of the copier a constant accompaniment to the flash of light each time the machine took another copy of whatever Detective Red Gordyn was lying on. Pieces of copy paper floated from the tray and scattered like flower petals across the already littered floor.

Alarm flashed through Brita, sending her senses into overdrive. The copier’s constant drudgery sharpened until it was like the roar of a train in her mind, each click at the end of the copy cycle twanging across her nerves like the cocking of a loaded pistol.

She searched for a pulse, finding one that was very faint. She would call for an ambulance but first she needed to finish securing the scene.

She settled Moxie onto the floor by her feet. “Heel,” she ordered in a harsh whisper. The doxie trembled, her frilly tail drooping on the floor behind her. Even Moxie’s overblown sense of adventure seemed to be outraged by the carnage in the station.

Brita crouched low and moved quickly past the first row of desks. She peered under each scarred wooden desk before moving on to the next and then the next. She found the second body lying face down between two desks. His desk chair was overturned behind him, the rusted wheel still spinning. She felt for a pulse on Detective Bill Bris’s throat but knew it was no use.

His slightly bulging brown eyes stared sightlessly ahead, a trail of blood coating the bridge of his pug nose from the hole between his eyes.

She found no more bodies and, by the time she reached the door to the interview rooms at the back, she was finally able to breathe.

Brita started to dial nine-one-one. As her finger hovered over the last digit, Moxie suddenly shot sideways with a growl and Brita turned. The little dog yelped.

“Moxie?”

Movement to her left. A blur of motion. Then Brita’s head snapped sideways and pain shattered outward, bringing her to her knees on the hard, dirty carpet.

She never felt her face hitting the floor.

Mavim #NewRelease from @samcheever #paranormalromance

SanguiBook2

She called out to him through time and space…an impossible dream…a hopeful imagining. Having heard her plea, he would not stop until he’d claimed her.

Mavim aches for the woman he left behind on Sanguinoss. She was a princess, a member of the royal family of elite vamps. His Amante…his love. Though he dreams of her every night, and pines for her every single day, he knows he cannot have her. He believes her dead.

But when Mavim intercepts the ghost of a communication from his lovely Fania, a communication which was probably engaged weeks or months earlier, he realizes she might still live!

Can Mavim find the only woman he’s ever loved and save her from an evil nemesis who covets her for his own and will stop at nothing to have her? Or will he finally look into his lover’s eyes…touch her satin skin…only to feel her slip from his grasp all over again?

flame

Mavim AgDurness closed his eyes and set his jaw against the ravening blood lust. His stomach growled its need, the muscles around it tightening as it twisted hungrily. He’d gone longer and longer without taking sustenance of late, so the debilitating hunger had become a nearly constant companion over his months on the primitive planet. Though the surface of the thriving alien planet called Earth was covered in walking, talking edibles, snacking from them was like eating nothing but mealfollows. All empty calories and no real sustenance.

Mavim snacked only when his body absolutely demanded it. And then only quickly, in the dark, with such a sense of revulsion he could barely keep the blood from boiling back up and spewing out on his shoes.

Always when he fed, he would see her face. So pale, so perfect. It was his undoing. For Mavim, no other female would do. None could take her place.

So he suspected he would simply fade away over time, as was the Sangui way of dying. And be launched into the sky for his final journey to Maja, protector of souls. Then his pain would finally end.

The comm unit spat sparks and sound flared briefly from it. Mavim’s head snapped up in surprise and crashed against the underside of the console. He swore in several intergalactic languages and pushed out from under the console, grabbing his tools as he moved into the open.

The ship’s communications had been fried when they crossed the atmospheric barriers to Earth, and he’d been trying to get them working again for months, scavenging resources from other parts of the ship and trying to repurpose things he’d managed to locate on Earth.

It had been long since the Sangui had heard from others of their kind. Though only a relative few had managed to escape the dying planet Sanguinoss, the small band of elite vampires living on Earth were keenly aware of the existence of others who’d escaped before the infection took them down.

And even more keenly aware of those who hadn’t managed to escape.

The lights on the comm flared to life and a blurry figure appeared briefly before snapping into blackness again.

It had spun too quickly through the visual cogs within the unit to be recognizable, but Mavim had been able to tell it was a woman.

Lights flared again. The same shape, slightly clearer this time, exploded onto the screen. “Mav...” Renegade star spikes ate the rest of the transmission, turning the words she spoke to a garbled mash. But Mavim had heard enough to make his pulse jump. He dropped his tools and slammed a hand over the comm, quickly adjusting levers until the image he’d seen flashed past again and then snapping a lock on the transmission before it could fitz away.

The pale oval staring back at him was marred by filth. The rich mahogany brown of her curls lank with oil. But the lush, cranberry lips were unmistakable.

The soft lilt of her bedroom voice distinctive.

Mavim had heard it every night in his dreams since he’d risked life and future to place her mangled form inside a burial capsule and send her on her final passage to Maja.

“Mav… Help… Gleschutions have tak…”

And there the transmission faded away, leaving behind only the terrified gaze of the woman he loved above all else. And the horrifying realization that she was in danger. And that she’d risked everything to try to get word to him.

Mavim touched the screen, tracing it with a shaky finger as tears slipped hot and unnoticed down his cheeks.

Blood tears.

Tears of deep, unending agony.

Then the comm blinked out again and her visage was ripped from his sight. Mavim threw back his head and roared, mad with the agony of her loss. Yet again.

Apocalyptic Mojo - Come on, you know you want some! @samcheever #indieauthor

ApocalypticMojo_3D

He was a man who liked complete control. She was a woman who would never give it.

The Epoch Mages and the Sorceri Bounty Hunters are ALWAYS on opposite sides of any issue. They H-A-T-E each other. But when a rogue witch decides to take over the world using flesh-eating zombies, Ardith and Draigh have to work together to stop her. And though they’ve twisted themselves inside out trying to deny their blistering desire for each other, they soon learn they’ll need to work together to accomplish what many before them have failed to do. Yep, it’s all gonna be downhill from there! Not.

~ 5 Stars from My Cozie Corner Book Reviews "A hard to put down novel that will capitvate you from the beginning."
~~*~~
The stench hit her first. The worst of it was the smell of unwashed bodies, sickness and stale booze. The next layer of reek was comprised of cheap, overpowering perfume, probably meant to disguise the smell of unwashed bodies, and the distinctive tang of unbridled sex.

All around her bodies swayed, pressed and inserted tab A into slot B…or vice versa. In a few cases only tabs were involved, in one, only slots.

Any way you put the parts together, however, it was a very uncomfortable place for a woman with a mission to be.

Ardith forced herself to move, searching the murky space for the rogue witch.

A hard body thumped into her from behind and two grubby hands climbed up her torso, painfully grasping her breasts. Ardith lifted an arm and slammed her elbow backward, feeling the satisfying crunch of the man’s nose against her skin.

Another hand slipped up her leather skirt and Ardith gasped. She reacted before thinking, sending witch fire into the man’s forehead. He flew through the air and slammed into another couple, inspiring the man from the couple to start pummeling the already unconscious intruder.

Someone roared. Someone else shrieked. Ardith’s action was a flame to dynamite. The room ran through its short fuse in about three seconds and all hell broke loose. The music dropped away under the resulting melee. A table whizzed toward her head and Ardith had to dive to the floor to avoid it.

Before she could climb to her feet, a heavy weight landed on her, smashing her back to the floor. The stench of filthy flesh overwhelmed her and she choked, retching. Ardith scrabbled out from under the man who’d landed on her and kept crawling, seeing an opening among the surging feet and flying fists, to get to a door at the back of the room.

Maybe Edwige would be there. If not, at least Ardith could regroup and figure out how to get out of the nasty club without being bludgeoned by horny ambrosiacs. She crawled to the bottom of the set of stairs leading to the exit and jumped to her feet, leaping out of the way as another table flew past.

She hit a broad, hard chest covered in leather. A delicious, clean male scent cut through the putrid air of the bar and, before she realized it she’d inhaled, delighting in the aroma. Her body tightened with pleasure. She lifted her gaze and her lungs clenched.

“It seems you’ve found others of your kind to play with, witch.”

Making Your Own Power @samcheever @MusaPublishing #realitytv #multiculturalromance

Guest Post by Sam Cheever

The heroine of my newest release, The Biggest Poser, is a young woman of color who’s worked her way up to become a popular trainer for the Lose it! television show. Jillie is smart, fun-loving and determined to excel in an industry that tests a person’s strength of character with every moment before the camera. Jillie isn’t perfect. She has her own personal demons—a well-chewed fingernail is proof of that—but she’s worked hard to achieve what she has and will fight to keep it.

In short, Jillie makes her own power. Nobody gave her a top spot on a popular television show. Jillie earned that top spot. I love her for that. She’s an everyday hero in a world woefully short on heroes. Jillie isn’t sitting back waiting for her big break, she’s out there fighting every day for it. And when her spot is challenged by a nasty piece of work trainer named Deva Banks, Jillie doesn’t succumb to nasty tactics to beat the other woman. Instead, she doubles down on her efforts to beat the devilish Deva fair and square. In the book the trainers are fighting to win or keep the top spot on the Lose it! show.

But in real life the goal isn’t all about winning, it’s about staying true to yourself and using every obstacle, every challenge to create internal power that will help you weather all of life’s little setbacks. That’s what real power is…the capacity to thrive so that you can make the world around you better.
Jillie’s my inspiration. And I hope to be like her someday. When I grow up. #:0)

May the biggest liar win. Or die trying!

Personal trainer for the ever popular, Lose it! reality show, Jillie Maxwell is up for the most important award of her career. And she’s competing against the biggest b-eye-itch she’s ever met. Fortunately for her, she has the sexiest man alive in her corner. Problem is, each and every one of them has a dirty little secret that could tank a career.

For the contestants, the race is on to lose the most weight and win everything. For the staff of the popular weight loss show, the clock is ticking to the culmination of their lies and the possibility of losing it all.

Will the Biggest Poser win? Or will the lies just grow and grow until they sink the whole show? Only one thing is certain. Whatever happens, it’s gonna be an entertaining ride!

EXCERPT

They sat in silence for a few more minutes, only the sound of water moving around Jillie’s gently circling legs disturbing the quiet.

Suddenly, Jillie pushed herself to her feet and stripped off her sexy short shorts.

Brandt looked up, catching his breath at the sight of her standing there in a teeny tiny black bikini. “You’re going swimming?”

“I have to do my nightly laps.”

“After the day you’ve had?”

“Especially after the day I’ve had. Routine soothes me. Besides, maybe I can ward off some of the soreness I’m probably gonna have after the mess I made of that run today.”

Jillie moved to the deep end of the pool, climbed up onto the diving board, and prepared herself. She stood on the very end of the board, her hands down by her sides and her eyes closed, as if psyching herself up for the dive.

Brandt pulled a leg from the water and bent it, leaning on it as he settled in to watch what he figured would be a spectacular dive. He wrapped himself up in the pleasure of watching her, smiling with the sheer joy of it.

After a moment of contemplation, Jillie opened her eyes, swung her arms up, flattened her palms together, and bent slightly at the knees. With a powerful push of her long legs, she flew up and out, her body taking a taut bend in the middle and starting into the expected dive. But at the last moment she tucked her knees and, grinning widely, hit the water in a truly spectacular cannon ball.

A good portion of the pool’s water spewed out onto an unsuspecting Brandt and he shrieked, scrambling to his feet and jumping back.

But it was far too late. His tidy golf shirt and carefully creased khaki shorts were drenched, and water dripped from his hair and down his chin.

Jillie’s head popped to the surface and she was laughing. She treaded water as he reached to pull the
drenched shirt off over his head.

“You’re gonna pay for that, Ms. Maxwell.”

She didn’t look at all worried. “I don’t think you have it in you, Mr. Parkerson.”

“We’ll just see about that.” He took a running start and leapt off the side, landing on his butt in the water with a resounding smack that swamped her with water.

Jillie shrieked and disappeared under the resulting tsunami. Brandt reached for her and pulled her free of the water before she drowned. She was laughing hysterically as he pulled her out.

He snickered with her, groaning in pain.

“That sounded like it hurt,” she said.

“You have no idea. But it was totally worth it.” Brandt had hold of her arms as they both treaded water and he dragged her close.

He’d only intended to share some fun with her. Create a playful moment in reaction to her mischievous salvo. But as soon as her velvet soft, warm body pressed against his, his bare chest smashed warmly against her nearly naked breasts, Brandt forgot his good intentions and dragged her in for a kiss.
Jillie gasped against his lips, the heat of her body a sharp counterpoint to the cold of the water.

Fire and ice.

Brandt slipped an arm around her slim waist and pressed her close with a hand in the small of her back. He slipped his fingers inside the top edge of her teeny bikini bottoms.

Jillie opened her soft mouth and he captured her sigh of submission, savoring her sweet, spicy taste. She lifted her hands and slipped them over his jaw line, holding him in the kiss as her soft tongue tangled with his.

Her thighs bumped against his as they both treaded water and her rigid nipples scraped his chest.

Brandt’s body molded to her like clay warmed in the hot sun. He slipped his fingertips inside the bottom edge of her suit and groaned as he found warm, velvety skin beneath his fingertips. Arching his hips, he pressed himself into her soft belly.

He’d never before felt the kind of attraction the woman in his arms instantly inspired in him. When they were together, Brandt felt as if they’d known each other for a lifetime instead of a few weeks.

She groaned against his mouth and wrapped her long legs around his waist.

Brandt cupped her delicate chin with his hand and tipped her head, pulling his lips from hers. “God, Jillie. You make me crazy.”

Her tongue came out and swept his lower lip, tasting him. “Really?” Her lips quivered. “I guess you’re okay, but I can definitely take you or leave you.” She shrugged.

He laughed. “Liar.”

Passion in its Many Forms @samcheever @MusaPublishing #realityTV #thebiggestloser

Guest post by Sam Cheever

My newest release, The Biggest Poser, is based on a reality television show that makes losing weight into a contest between overweight people and their trainers. Like the real-life show it spoofs, The Biggest Poser is unpredictable, exciting, at times frustrating, and generally inspirational to those of us who constantly struggle with our weight. Unlike The Biggest Loser, however, the book is also about passion.

Passion isn’t just about romance and sex, though that’s certainly the focus of most romantic fiction. Many of us are also passionate about food. Some might call it an addiction. In a way it is. But since we can’t give it up, we need it to live, and it’s a rampantly social activity, I think it’s too simplistic to put food into the addiction category.

In The Biggest Poser, contestants must learn to balance their passion for gastronomic delights with their wish to be healthier, stronger, and slimmer. It’s a common battle in a society where food is everywhere. We see it all over the Internet and on television, hear about it on the radio, and view it on billboards and in the pages of magazines. We can’t escape it. More importantly, those of us with a passion for great food don’t want to escape it. We want to embrace that passion, without letting it overcome us.

That’s really the struggle with any passion isn’t it? To find the balance between enough and too much? The characters in The Biggest Poser, including the trainers, all struggle with it in their own way. But in the end it’s their passion that allows them to find that balance, to conquer their tendency toward overdoing. In The Biggest Poser the road to health is hard, fraught with potholes big enough to eat an overweight man, but it’s traveled with spirit, humor, and, yes, even a bit of ruthlessness. And in the end, each person makes his or her own choices and achieves his or her own level of success.

You can’t ask for more than that!

May the biggest liar win. Or die trying!

#MarchMadness #recipe from @samcheever

Sam Cheever has the perfect starter for your team for March Madness or any get-together. Get your game plan set and score big with the fans.

COCONUT CHICKEN
1 to 2 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken breast
2 large eggs
¼ cup coconut milk-any milk will do
½ cup flour
1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
1 cup shredded sweetened coconut
½ tsp. salt
½ cup vegetable or coconut oil
Sweet Chili Sauce for dipping

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Cut the chicken diagonally into strips.

Prepare three separate bowls for breading your chicken: Bowl 1, combine flour and salt. Bowl 2, whisk eggs and milk together. Bowl 3, mix breadcrumbs and coconut together.

Heat ¼ cup of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium/high heat. To test, drop a little flour into the oil. When it sizzles the oil is ready.

Then dip the chicken in the bowls, starting with bowl 1 and on through 3. Lay the coated strips on a plate until you have coated them all. Don’t stack the strips.

Place some of your chicken strips in the hot oil. Be sure to leaved space between each strip. Fry them until golden brown. Drain them on a paper towel. Move to an ovenproof dish.

When all of the chicken is browned, bake for 10 minutes (or until done). Remember, chicken like all meat continues to cook a short while longer after it is removed from the heat.

Serve this tasty chicken with the chili sauce for dipping!

And here's a little from my latest erotic romance to spice up your night.

Killing Zombies is Easy according to @samcheever

Killing Zombies is Easy – It Takes a Real Man to Refrain – Or does it?

Guest post by Sam Cheever

Okay, I’ll admit it, where zombies are concerned, I’m kind of blood thirsty. To me, those rotting, nasty things are like cockroaches. If you saw a cockroach in your kitchen, you wouldn’t let it live just because it scurried behind the dishes in the cabinet and you couldn’t see it anymore.
Would you?
Like millions of other people, I’m a huge fan of the TV series, The Walking Dead. I love the show, though it’s so intense thereare times I’m just not up to watching. I mean, isn’t it bad enough that they’re being chased and eaten by hoards of nasty zombies…the writers had to give them a killer bug too? And mean people who keep trying to kill them? Seriously?
But I digress.
What I really wanted to talk about was all the zombies they see and don’t kill. Really? I know there are lots of them, but you can’t stop killing them just because there are so many! If I were living in that prison, I’d spend every waking moment sticking sharp objects through the monsters’ brains. Yeah, I’m vindictive that way. But this letting them live crap always comes back to bite our heroes in the ass, literally.
Playing Devil’s Advocate though, what if my view on this is wrong? Should you kill something or someone just because they/it might try to kill you later? Hmm
My hero, Audie Kord, in the soon to be released Tall, Dark & Apocalyptic, is a Sorceri warrior. His mission is to find and exterminate all the creatures a certain black witch has created through death magic. He starts his mission thinking his job is black and white.
See a zombie, kill a zombie. No gray area.
But then he meets Yeira. Yeira’s a zombie…sort of…and she was created/enhanced by the black witch. But she’s beautiful and smart and, whenever he lays eyes on her, Audie’s body tightens with sexual heat. He’s supposed to kill her. His brain tells him he should, because it’s what he does and she’s his target. But his heart stays his hand. Yeira is nothing like he expects her to be and, with his awareness of her as a living, breathing human being, he finds himself reassessing both his perspective of the creatures he hunts, and his opinion of Yeira herself.
Audie saw a zombie and didn’t immediately kill her. Because of this restrainthe might find love. And he might learn something about the creatures that he never would have learned if he’d done what he was trained to do.
So, dang it! I guess it might make sense not to just perform wholesale slaughter of zombies, because they’re there. But I still think the cast of TWD needs flame throwers, or bombs. I mean, come on. One at a time? Really? There’s like billions of the nasty things. Kill those suckers! Rip off their heads!!
Oops, sorry. I guess I need a little more convincing. Look for Tall, Dark & Apocalyptic on March 8th! In the meantime, here’s a taste:
A grand passion in an apocalyptic world. A love beyond reason and without boundaries.
He’s a warrior, a bounty hunter in a world turned upside down. She’s a target, a creature of dark magic. His job is simple. Kill the target. Her goal is more complex. She must stay alive until she finds and destroys the source of death magic staining the twenty worlds. But the passion burning within them may be their undoing. It’s going to take an apocalyptic will to overcome the distraction their bodies are creating…and not lose themselves in the process.

5 stars - Venus Cahill Reviews: “This story jumps right into the action and never lets up! Yeira is a kick-butt heroine but she's still easy to relate to, which was surprising considering her amazingly unique situation. Kord is the ultimate Alpha and he took my breath away. He's masculine and imposing and while he is steadfast and dependable he is also a good man at heart. The setting becomes almost a third lead character and I loved it. I cannot wait to read more stories about the fabulous world this author has created. I will freely admit to being a huge fan of this author, I love her Honeybun series but I was a little apprehensive of reading an apocalyptic story as I rarely enjoy them but this one was a definite exception not only did I thoroughly enjoy it I want more!”
EXCERPT
“There are ten reborns in that hillside lair.”
Audie pulled his sword so quickly the woman’s bright blue gaze widened slightly with alarm. “Let’s go kill them.”
Instead of moving, Yeira just stared up at him, looking eminently disappointed.
When she didn’t move, Audie placed the tip of his sword in the dirt at his feet and leaned on it. “What?”
“Have you even been listening to me?”
He frowned. “Hanging on every word, why?”
“You remember the part about my goal? Wherein I don’t kill everything that moves but instead try to find Edwige?”
She sounded so much like his legal counsel Audie couldn’t help grinning. She certainly didn’t look like any lawyer he’d ever met. “Vaguely.”
She turned on her heel and strode away, her feet hitting the dry, scratchy-sounding grass much harder than they needed to.
Feeling just a tiny bit proud of himself for getting under her skin, Audie started after her. The good feeling didn’t last long.
As soon as he caught up she glanced at him and asked. “So how good are you at restrictive magics?”
Audie worked hard not to show his panic. “I’m much better at whacking things than restraining them.”
One corner of her delicious mouth curved upward. “You do have guide magic, right?”
“Of course!” He was deeply insulted by her question. Only the novice hunter walked around without a guide to call. “I didn’t say I couldn’t restrain them. I just said I was better at lopping off their heads.”
She sniffed but didn’t say anything and Audie’stemper flared. Suddenly he found it very important to prove himself to her. He stopped, but the woman kept walking. Watching her fine, heart-shaped behind sway away from him, he lifted one hand, palm up. With a thought he called the magic in their surroundings and sparking blue particles of energy filled the air, speeding toward him. The light caught and swirled in a power-whirlwind above his palm, waiting for his direction.
Smiling, Audie glanced at the woman, whose, curvy form had widened the distance between them by ten feet. With a thought he sent the swirling blue magic surging toward her, grinning as it wrapped her in a shimmering embrace and dragged her to a halt.
She gave a little squeal of alarm and Audie strode over, stopping to stare down at her. “It appears my restrictive magics work just fine.
She struggled against his magic web. “Good. Now let me go.”
Watching her fight the magic, her red hair flying around delicate shoulders as she struggled to get free, something broke inside Audie. Something that had been closed was wrenched open. And suddenly he couldn’t help wondering how her wine-colored lips would taste—pondering how they’d feel moving softly beneath his.
Once the thought was free he couldn’t call it back and Audie stepped closer.
She stopped struggling and looked up at him through those unfathomable blue eyes, the thick fringe of dark red lashes fluttering slightly as she seemed to consider whether he meant her harm. Audie reached out and touched her porcelain-colored cheek, and she flinched.
His finger scraped softly against the velvet surface and Audie turned it so the calluses on the tips wouldn’t abrade her delicate skin. “How is it possible that you’re so beautiful?” He murmured. It was meant to be a thought. One he’d wondered all too often to himself. But the words escaped his lips and she heard.
Yeira’s eyes widened in alarm. “Look, Hunter, I…”
He didn’t want to hear what she had to say. Couldn’t stand it if, in the moment when his cold heart had warmed slightly, she filled the heat-charged air between them with ugly words. So he did the only thing he could. He lowered his head and captured her lush, burgundy lips with his own.
And the thing that had blossomed inside his chest creaked open another inch as she responded with instinctive passion to his touch.

#MondayMunchies - @samcheever's Easy Pasta #recipe

from Sam Cheever

This recipe is so easy you'll want to make it time and time again. Throw all ingredients into one pot, even the uncooked Pasta. All ingredients cook along with the pasta. And the really cool thing, in my opinion, is that there’s nothing exotic here. This is all stuff I always have on hand!

No Strain Tomato Basil Pasta
12 ounces pasta
1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes with liquid (Get creative and use seasoned tomatoes!)
1 large sweet onion, cut in thin strips
4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
2 large sprigs basil, chopped
4½ cups vegetable broth (Not low sodium)
½ tsp. red pepper flakes
2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
Parmesan cheese for garnish

Put the pasta, diced tomatoes, onion, garlic, and basil in a large pot and add the vegetable broth.

Sprinkle the pepper flakes and oregano over the top and drizzle with the oil.

Cover the pot and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook covered for about 10 minutes, stirring every couple of minutes.

Cook off most of the liquid, then season to taste with salt and pepper.

You’ll want to stir the pasta several times to distribute the remaining liquid.

Garnish with the Parmesan cheese.

And here's a little from my latest erotic romance to spice up your night.

#MondayMunchies - Amazingly Simple Mac & Cheese from @samcheever

Amazingly Simple Mac & Cheese
from Sam Cheever

We've just moved the zoo to a new house. With all the unpacking and disorganization I needed a quick but tasty dinner for us humans. A quick rummage through two boxes and the fridge and I was good to go. Here is last night's dinner. We loved the clean taste and I think you will, too.

2 cups dried pasta
2 cups 2% milk
1 cup loosely packed shredded cheddar cheese
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. Dijon mustard

Combine the pasta and milk in a saucepan and bring to a simmer. Stir often. Cook over low heat until the pasta is soft, approximately 20 minutes. Do not allow the milk to boil.

Stir in the mustard, salt, and cheese (if you’re going to bake it, reserve about ¼ cup of the cheese for sprinkling over the top).

Cover and let stand for 5 minutes, then stir well and serve. Or bake it in a 375°F oven for 10-15 minutes, or until cheese on top is melted.

Add 1 can of drained tuna and bake as above to make tuna casserole!

Now if you want something with more bite, here's an intro from my erotic romance Cupid Only Rings Twice.

This Valentine’s Day, Rori’s gonna meet an honest to god Cupid. And he’ll use more than arrows to win her love.

Rori Foster is too beautiful to find love. Men just can’t seem to look past her exterior to recognize the human being inside.

Unfortunately he’ll have to save her from the bad intentions of a cocky Love Demon first.

But Damios is determined to protect her. Even if he loses her in the process.

MINI EXCERPT:
Damios lowered his head, capturing her exquisite lips in a kiss that was less a tender wish and more an urgent promise. Her mouth opened under his and he accepted her offer, slipping his tongue past her lips to savor her sweet taste.

She moaned softly as his hands slipped around her waist, up her back, and pulled her tightly against his chest. Her body heated under his kiss and her incredible scent slipped over him.

Damios broke the kiss long enough to say, “I lied. I want to come inside.”

They both stilled for a moment, Damios realizing how his declaration had sounded and Rori’s lips twitching under a suppressed grin.

He rested his forehead against hers, finding it hard to breathe. “Sorry. That came out wrong.”

She chuckled huskily, skimming the tip of one velvet thumb across his bottom lip. “No. It came out just right.”

Damios bit her thumb softly and slipped his hands down her body, cupping the firm roundness of her buttocks. His lips found hers again and he groaned as she ground herself against him.

Their kiss gained heat, their bodies thrumming under the imperative of a building need. Their tongues tangled, danced, and their hands skimmed, exploring with growing intensity...
